Getting rid of laundry funk

It’s a rainy Friday night and I am up to my ears in laundry. It is amazing to me how many loads a family of 4 can create in less than 5 days.

Remember when my house flooded a little more than a month ago?  Yeah, no laundry got done in my casa during that time. My poor parents had me hogging up their washer and dryer. Well the awesome company TCOPR got kind of grossed out, told me to grow up and move back home and wash my own clothes

I kid, they didn’t say that. But they did  hook me up with a new Febreeze/Tide products that takes the stank out of clothes.

The Odor Eliminator is professional strength and goes right into the wash with detergent. I wonder if I can put it in my bath too?

From the website:

Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator is a laundry aid that works in the washer with detergents to eliminate odors such as perspiration, cooking oil, grease, motor oil, pets, garden soil and mildew from virtually any washable fabric. While detergents clean the soils Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator cleans away odors that get trapped in fabrics.

Use Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator in any of your laundry loads with odors that can be hard to remove with detergent alone.  These loads often include items such as work uniforms or clothes, sports or fitness clothing, cooking towels, or restaurant uniforms.

So far it seems to be doing its job. I like that it’s a separate product and not combined with a detergent so that I can still use Free and Clear to wash the kids clothes. I have been using Tide Sport with Febreeze on my workout gear for the past year and notice that this odor eliminator does not have as heavy of a scent. I kinda like that.

The true test will come when I wash my dog’s bed. If it comes out with no dog smell I will be their next brand ambassador.

They also sent me 2 new Tide Sport Laundry bags (one for the gym, one for travel) that I will be using during the Ragnar Relay next week

Both the travel bag and the laundry bag have built-in odor absorbers to keep the stink inside. My other teammates will be super appreciative of my attempt to keep my funk out of their faces.

Thank you TCOPR for the goods! And an extra thank you from team So Much Cooler Online who will have one less stinky runner in a van for 200 miles!

I’ll be headed to Lulu yoga in the morning if anyone wants to join me. Hoping to get a longish run in on Sunday when the sunshine is back. The pain in my heel is almost gone so I am praying it’s good to go!

So if you have been following my blog for a while you know I have a collection of funny running shirts. Maybe they should be called ‘tude running shirts. The ones I wear when I need a little something extra. The ones I wear when I am in an irritated mood at 5 am (ahem, today) that will deter people from striking up conversation.

The latest came from my Bro and SIL. I wish it was appropriate to wear to work

Yes we have awesome private dressing rooms with mirrors in the locker room at my gym. Perfect for self portraits. Also perfect? If someone heard the camera clicking this morning they wouldn’t dare say a word since my shirt was doing the talking. Rawr.

Speaking of shirts Marathon Monday is rapidly approaching and Saucony has launched a line of limited edition T’s. I scooped one up this morning and you can too by clicking HERE. Shipping is FREE. Yes FREE. If its free its for me. And you.

But back to running. Wait, was talking about running? I digress.

One week from now I will be packing up my stuff in a ginormous van and heading to the OC for the Ragnar Relay.

Last night I met up with a couple of the girls at Road Runner Sports to go over last minute rules/regulations

Unfortunately it was so packed that I couldn’t get a seat. Fortunately I saw Pretty Fittie and the P-man hanging out so we got some good one-on-one time. I mean what dude wouldn’t want to hear chicks talk about not showering after long runs. Totally hot, no?

Post “meeting” Chacha and Shannon emerged to give us an update and snap a quick photo.

Shannon, Ash, Me, Chacha

We will all be spending a lot of time together next weekend. A lot. Lucky for you all (or unlucky, not sure yet) I will be VLOGing from our van. I know you are super looking forward to hearing OUAL demanding us all to run faster. It’s going to be awesome.

I’m off to get cozy and watch the American Idol results show. What?

~

Do you collect “stuff?”

~ I still have all of my toys from when I was a kid. Not kidding. All in a storage unit. I may secretly be a millionaire

Have you run a relay? Got any tips for us soon-to-be super sweaty Bettys?

Eating, Celebrating, Eating, Celebrating

Heeelllooooo. How is everyone? It’s a rainy morning here in SoCal and I love it. Why? Because it gave me an excuse to not get out of bed this morning (Wednesday is my rest day) and drink extra coffee. No brainer. Cold + rain = coffee. Speaking of coffee did you know that it could possibly improve memory? That’s what I read HERE anyway. We all know that whatever is on the internet is totally true.

Things have been pretty crazy for me the past week or so.

It was my birfday

I took in a ball game (yessssss, love me some baseball)

Spent time with my favorite friends so we could finalize our Ragnar Plans. We have 2 teams that are ready to dominate. Or something like that.

SR, OUAL, Margot, ChaCha, Pam and her son who also acted as our handsome body guard.

Pam brought a cake! Since I am the same age forward and backwards it makes sense to eat desert more than once.

I celebrated Easter with my fam bam and went to service on the beach. We do this every year and I can’t imagine celebrating any other way.

I ate. A lot.

When I took this picture my Dad asked if I was trying to get a picture of his bald spot. Ha ha, vert funny. Beings that he is a male model and all

Can you tell I look just like him?

To sum it up I have been eating, celebrating, eating, celebrating and eating.

What have I not done a lot of this past week? Running. After my crazy 5 race weekend I took some time to cross train and allow a sore left heel to recover. You all know I have dealt with PF in the past so I do not want to risk dealing with that monster.

I ran on Mon and Tues and it felt ehhhh. Not terrible but definitely not pain free. That means it’s time to let it chill a little more. Today is a rest day with my plan being to cross train tomorrow, a few easy miles on Friday and a long run this weekend. If it’s sore on Friday the long run will have to wait. Never worth possible making it worse.

So what’s next? My focus is on being 100% ready to take on 30 miles for our relay next weekend. For those of you in SoCal make sure you are on Twitter as we will be posting updates and may or may not have a giveaway or two at certain exchanges.  Funnnnnn.

Before I head out to TCB I wanted to mention that one of our awesome Ragnar Sponsors, Pro Compression is currently offering $20 off their socks and free shipping in the month of April! Use code RR20 at checkout and hook yo’ self up. I have the baby blue argyle marathon socks and loooovvvvee em.  Do it. Before you miss out.
