Rain, NWM and Running for Japan

Happy Rainy Sunday from SoCal. Congratulations to all that ran the LA Marathon today is this craptastic weather! A big shout out to my buddy Bobby who PR’d with a 2:56!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Sub 3 hours in cold, windy, rain?!?! SUPERSTAR!

I have 2 announcements this afternoon:

First:

For those of you interested in the Nike Women’s Marathon, registration for the lottery opens on April 11th.

Registration fees went up $15 this year with the half-marathon at $130 and the full at $150. There is no cost to get into the lottery. If you are selected your card will be charged at that time. This race benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which means there is also the option to run with Team in Training. Did I forget to mention the finisher’s necklace designed by Tiffany & Co? When you cross the finish line a fireman dressed in a tux hands you a little blue box. BONUS!

This is a hilly race through San Fran that is a lot of fun. I ran it last year with Maureen and we had a blast! Don’t expect a Rock N Roll type expo- it’s a small set up in Union Square with a few freebies and some new gear to try. They set up merch in the Nike Town so get their early. Every girl should run this race at least once! GIRL POWER 🙂 For more info on this even click HERE.

Second:

Nike has set up a challenge through the Nike Plus program to raise money for Japan.

Nike will donate $1 for each mile logged from March 18th- June 18th. If you run on the Nike Plus program please click HERE for more info.

I’m off to finish my weekly shopping- Costco is done- now just a few pit stops…
